Sania Mirza crashed out of the second round of ASB tennis Classic on Wednesday. She suffered a 0-6, 3-6 defeat at the hands of fourth-seeded Francesca Schiavone of Italy.
The world No.17 Italian displayed a better play than Sania, defeating her for the fourth successive time, to advance into the quarterfinals.
This was an end for Saina’s campaign in the tournament as she is already out of the doubles race. At the doubles event Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer and Slovak Dominika Cibulkova defeated Sania with and her new doubles partner Virginia Pascual on Tuesday in straight sets.
