Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza entered the semi-finals of the mixed doubles event of Australian Open. Another Indian, Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy also booked their place in the men's doubles semis. Bhupathi-Mirza defeated Canadians Aleksandra Wozniak and Daniel Nestor in a quarterfinal match. The Indian pair took one hour and 15 minutes to win the match with 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 score line.
 
Later Leander Paes and Lukas Dlouhy took on unseeded Italians Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi and ousted them by 6-1, 7-6 (5) to seal a semi-final berth in men's doubles event. Paes-Dlouhy will now face the winners of the all-American quarter-final between second-seeded brothers Bob and Mike Bryan and Mardy Fish and John Isner.
 
In another men's doubles quarterfinal encounter, Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles defeated Spanish pair of Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco to enter the semis of Australian Open. Bhupathi-Knowles duo crashed the Spanish pair by 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. They wrapped up the match in one hour and 28 minutes. Bhupathi and Knowles will now play against Lukasz Kubot of Poland and Oliver Marach of Austria. Top seed Yuki Bhambri of India reached the quarterfinal stage by beating 13th seed Croat Dino Marcan 6-3, 6-1 in the pre-quarterfinals of the boys singles competition.
