Samsung Wave, the first ever Bada OS based handset is the first mobile phone to get DivX certification for playing back 720p HD content.

Samsung Wave was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona.

The Wave boasts of a big AMOLED 3.3-inch touchscreen capable of displaying 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It also incorporates new TouchWiz 3.0 user interface to offer a nice look.

The other features associated with this Samsung phone include Social Hub to connect with friends and relatives and Bluetooth 3.0 ND for 802.11n Connectivity.

The Samsung Wave handset can also record videos in 720p resolution apart from playing back 720p videos. Samsung has claimed that it is the first such device to play back 720p HD content. However, it is not the first phone to play the 720p videos. Samsung Omnia HD bears the unique distinction to do so. Though, there are other sets like the Sony Ericsson Vivaz and the Samsung i9000 that can proffer HD video recording capability.
