Two major electronic companies of world Samsung and Sony have shown their interest to enter into joint-venture to produce next generation LCDs says a report published in Korea. This joint venture would be worth $3 billion to $4 billion, and will produce larger LCDs than available now in the market. The joint venture will start producing LCDs in the year 2010, reveals the report published in the capital of Korea. On the other hand, other competitor in LCD market LG will start producing LCDs from the year 2009 with the investment of $1.36 billion.
According to official communication received from Samsung, the company is reviewing its next move on LCD production facilities but no decision has yet been taken. On the other hand Sony has not given any statement in this regard and still its gestures are just speculation. The next-generation facility could produce 70-inch TV panels and larger LCD facilities make bigger screens and help lower costs. These two companies, occupying leading slots in world for LCD production are already partner since 2005 in S-LCD production, and the new joint venture would be an extra in their belt.
