Aiming to grab a share in lucrative ultra-portable PC market Samsung Electronics has launched its first mini-notebook. Its features include an Intel Atom processor and 1 GB of memory. It comes along with Microsoft Windows XP Home. Purchasers are given options to buy it in the memory range of 80-GB, 120-GB, or 160-GB hard disk drive.
 
The system has energy efficient technology as it offers InsightsWhite PapersTV 2.0 - The Big Screen PC. It uses Environmental Green Self-Healing Storage Systems. The system's weight is below 3 pounds, and has a six-cell battery with a 10.2-inch LED screen whose resolution is 1,024-by-600 pixels. For its small keyboards, it has been considered good for e-mail and Web surfing on the road.
 
The firm has announced that NC 10 would be available in the world market from the month of October at the expected selling price of $600. Dinesh Chand, of Samsung said that the firm has been looking at the notebook market for some time to see where it could really add value for consumers. Accordingly, with its price, the firm has tried to attract students to buy its notebooks.
