With the aim of wooing customers, Samsung India has come out with a new series of LED (light emitting diodes) high-definition televisions (HDTV). The highlighting features of the new HDTVs, priced between Rs. 1.25 lakh and Rs. 3.50 lakh, is their energy-efficient technology. The new range comprises of three televisions, named Series 6, 7 and 8. Along with the TVs, the company also unveiled 5 new LCD TV series and Plasma TV series, with a price range of around Rs. 17,000-1.70 lakh and Rs. 59,000-1.35 lakh, respectively.
Talking about the LED HDTVs, the 6 Series will boast of a 40 inch screen, while the 7 Series will be seen flaunting 46 inch screen. The Series 8 LED HDTV has been equipped with 55 inch display screen. Apart from LED light source, the primary features of the TVs include artful designs, increased energy savings, high contrast ratios and optimum video quality. Samsung's Wide Color Enhancer Pro and Ultra Clear Panel will provide the user with wider color palette and highly detailed pictures (even in extremely bright and unsuitable conditions).
Natural mode (merging both the LCD and plasma), image judder and motion blur control and built-in tuner are some of the other features of Samsung LED HDTVs. They will have a thickness of 29.9mm, with dual-injection molding. The energy consumption will be 40% less than standard LCD HDTVs. The TVs will allow users to view videos and photos from a camcorder, access multimedia files from a portable drive and play music from a media player. Its DLNA Wireless feature (in Series 7 and 8) will also let them to watch all content stored in their PC, on the Samsung HDTVs, without attaching any wires or cables.
