Samsung India has introduced a wide rang of Light Emitting Diodes (LED) technology-based televisions in the Indian market. The new ranges of energy-efficient LED television from Samsung carry a price tag of Rs 1.25 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh. The company claimed that the new LED TVs consume less electricity and are made of environment-friendly products. Unlike the LCD TVs which use normal liquid crystal display technology, the new ranges of Samsung TVs use light emitting diodes.
 
While interacting with the media, Samsung President and CEO (South- West Asia) Jung Soo Shin said that the company is extremely pleased to launch the new LED televisions in Indian market. The launch of LED technology-based televisions will bring a new revolution in consumer durable market and place Samsung as the leader.
 

According to Samsung India Deputy Managing Director R Zutshi, this year LED TV will occupy 10 percent of company's flat panel TV volumes. During the current fiscal year, Samsung aims to sell six lakh units of flat panel TVs in India. Samsung has launched as many as three series of LED TVs in the Indian market. Apart from these, the company has also introduced five series of LCD TVs and two series of plasma TVs in India. Other market players like LG, Panasonic and TCL are also expected to come out with LED TVs.
