The first look of the Galaxy handset from Samsung Electronics which runs of the Google OS, Anderoid, was given to the world at CommunicAsia exhibition held in Singapore.
The Galaxy is a smart phone having a black case which is very sleek. The AMOLED touch screen of this phone is 3.2 inch. There are 5 main buttons as well as one directional keypad which are located below display. The physical QWERTY keypad is absent in the Galaxy. The camera which is present on the back of this phone has a resolution of 5MP. LED flash is also present. The volume controls as well as the button for locking the handset are present on the sides of its black case.
The usual features of a smart phone like Wi-Fi, GPS and WCDMA support are present in the Galaxy. The Galaxy also allows the users to download data at a speed of about 7.2 Mbps, where the operators have HSPA (High Speed Packet An audio jack is also present which indicates that headphones can be used.
The Galaxy is a very slim phone with a thickness of just 11.9 mm. This phone is even thinner than Apple iPhone 3G and magic. The slim and sleek design of the Galaxy makes it more appealing to the users of iPhones, especially those who found out the first handsets running on Anderoid.
Yet another feature which makes Galaxy very user friendly is the feedback on touch screen while something is typed on virtual keyboard of the phone. The handset vibrates in a gentle fashion as you keep on typing which lets you know that you have touched a key. This will be appealing to those users who generally avoid the touch screen handsets.
