While "Partner", the remake of the Hollywood flick 'Hitch' with Salman Khan and Govinda was quite a hit at the box office, now according to reports, Mukhesh Talareja and Nikhil Advani are keen on remaking the comedy Hollywood entertainer, Wedding Crashers, in Hindi. Talreja said that he has seen Wedding Crashers and he believes that it has good potential to lend itself to be a great remake. He also expressed his happiness because of the fact that the remake will be made in association with an international production house. In an industry where copying of ideas is a norm, this comes as quite a surprise because this is going to be the official remake of the film, in Hindi.
The duo of Talreja and Advani also believe that the Warner Bros' comedy has all the necessary ingredients to be a Bollywood blockbuster. Presently, Warner Bros and Orion Pictures are in talks for the remake of the movie. However, it is known that the Bollywood production house won't be paying any money for the remake rights. Warner Bros will be the distributor and the presenter of the Hindi remake of Wedding Crashers.
Both Orion Pictures and Warner Bros. have agreed that the talks are still on and some of the top Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Govinda are under consideration for playing the lead roles in the movie, but the deal hasn't been finalized as yet. The film will be directed by someone who can handle the genre well, since it deals with weddings.
Wedding Crashers is a Hollywood movie starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in the lead roles. It is a story of two good friends who crash into weddings as uninvited guests to meet various women. In such a wedding, the guys fall for the younger sister of the bride. This becomes a very complex affair and the movie ends with a very big wedding. Wedding Crashers was released in the year 2005 with a budget of $40 million. The Bollywood remake of the movie is also expected to be a huge production worth several crores of rupees.
