Salgaocar Sports Club will participate in the world finals of Manchester United Premier Cup (MUPC) under-15 football tournament.
The club earned the chance by defeating Raghav FC .The team left for Manchester on Saturday .Some of the top international clubs in the world will participate in the competition finals to be played from Aug 5-9. This year saw 60 teams participate in the India leg of the tournament.
Some of the teams for MUPC world finals are AS Roma (Italy), Real Madrid (Spain), West Bromwich Albion (England) and Orlando Pirates (South Africa).
Praful Patel, President, All India Football Federation, on the occasion of team’s departure said: "We are proud to see an Indian U-15 club team play on an international stage and compete with the best in class.”
