Saina Nehwal defeated Sayaka Sato of Japan to become Badminton Junior World Champion. Saina defeated Sayaka by 21-9, 21-18 in a match that lasted just 25 minutes. She was joyous after the victory. She said that it was a great feeling to win the title as she had lost the same in the year 2006.
Born on 17th March in the year 1990 in a Jat family, Saina Nehwal is disciple of Pulela Gopichand who himself has been an ace shuttler. Saina said that she had not thought that she would be able to play so perfectly. According to her the first game was easier but in the second game Sayaka was playing good smashes, but she was successful in catching Sayaka on the nets.
Her coach, Gopichand commented that she played like a champion, and it is good to see her wining convincingly through out the tournament. On the other hand, Saina said that the world title is just a milestone in her career and she is eyeing for China Open and Hong Kong open this month. She said that she is confident that she would do well in both the tournaments.
