Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will come face-to-face with his look-alike when he will unveil his new wax model in Mumbai on Monday (13th April). The cricketing legend's wax statue is created by Madame Tussauds, London and will be flown specially to India. According to an announcement made in Mumbai on Thursday (9th April) the wax statute shall be launched at an exclusive star-studded event at Hotel Taj Land’s End, Bandra.
Tendulkar is the first Indian sports personality to be featured in the famous Madame Taussad's wax museum of London. According to a spokesperson for the organizers, it is also the first time that a Madame Taussad figure will be launched overseas. Until now, all celebrity statue launches were held in London at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The museum decided to fly Tendulkar's wax figure 7000 kms to Mumbai to ensure that the cricketing legend was at hand to launch his lifelike model.
The wax figure has taken only three months to create. The wax statute is dressed in a white cricketing jersey, which the little champion himself had donated. Apart from Sachin, the other living Indians displayed at the museum include Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
