Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar climbed 5 places in the ICC One-day rankings grabbing the seventh place on Tuesday. Sachin’s wonderful performance in the Sri Lanka tri-series led to his return to the top ten positions in the ICC rankings.
For the first time in 10 months, Tendulkar is among the world's top 10 after scoring his 44th One-day century for India. He earned India a 46-run victory over Sri Lanka in the final of the tri-series in Colombo.
Tendulkar contributed 138 runs to the India's winning total of 320.
Tendulkar was also the highest run-scorer in the series with 211 runs. He had slipped out of the top-10 after the home series against England in November 2008.He also did not participate in the first three ODIs of the five-match series which India won by 5-0.
The bating table is led by Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni followed by Vice-captain Yuvraj Singh who has achieved his career-best second place in the rankings for ODI all-rounders.
Yuvraj Singh, left behindJacques Kallis of South Africa, Jacob Oram of New Zealand and Andrew Flintoff of England ,to grab the second place after scoring 80 runs and taking four wickets.
India openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have slipped two places as both of them were not in the series due to injuries. A player loses one per cent of his rating for missing one match.
