India’s master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar retained his second position among batsmen, with 777 rating points in the latest ICC rankings, released on Sunday 20 April 2008. Meanwhile, India is ranked fourth in the ICC Championships ranking table. Graeme Smith of South Africa, with 792 points tops the list among batsmen, while the third spot is occupied by Australian skipper Ricky Ponting with 770 points.  
 
In the list of bowlers, no Indian bowler is among the top ten bowlers of the world. The list is headed by New Zealand’s bowler Daniel Vettori. Harbhajan Singh is the highest ranking Indian in the list of bowling, at the 18th position. Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan for the first time in more than a decade is out of the list of the top ten bowlers.
 
Meanwhile in team rankings, India enjoys the fourth position with 113 points. The list is headed by South Africa with 127 points, followed by Australia and New Zealand. Amongst batsmen, the only other Indian batsmen to make it to the list of top 10 batsmen of the world is ODI captain MS Dhoni, enjoying the tenth position.
