Even the great Sir Donald Bradman acknowledged that this guy plays like me. The master of records and one of the world's greatest batsmen, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar celebrates his 35th birthday on Thursday, April 24, 2008. In the journey, which started 18 years ago when a curly haired boy made his international debut against Pakistan in 1989 at a tender age of 16, very few would have thought that he will achieve those feats which others can only dream of.
In an international career which has lasted for 18 years and is still going strong, Sachin Tendulkar has seen many ups and downs. There were times when people raised questions regarding his caliber but Sachin silenced all his critics by his masterful stroke play. Tendulkar has several records to his name. He is the only player to have maximum centuries in both forms of the game and is the leading run getter in ODIs. The fact that he frightened Shane Warne in his dreams speaks volumes of his caliber.
Currently, the legend is suffering from fitness problems and he has not been able to participate in the two matches for his team, Mumbai Indians, in the IPL. But it is sure that fans all round the globe are praying for his quick recovery and one hopes to see him in action very soon.
