Bangalore based doctor Sabeel Ahmad will finally be deported to India, according to the Old Bailey court. The young doctor was detained for withholding information about his brother Kafeel Ahmad’s suicide plot to blow up the Glasgow Airport. Justice Calvert Smith, at the Old Bailey court, accepted the plea of Sabeel of being guilty and pronounced that there are no signs of Sabeel being an extremist or party to extremist’s views.
Sabeel Ahmad was released on Friday night after the court verdict. He is presently in the custody of immigration services and would be deported back to India in the ‘near future’. According to Scotland Yard sources Sabeel is likely to fly back to India within a week. The young doctor rendered his services at the Halton General Hospital and lived in Ramilies Road, Liverpool.
Kafeel Ahmad, the 28 year old Engineer, sent an e-mail to his brother about the suicide attack. Kafeel died from 90 percent burns after he rammed a jeep in the terminal building in Glasgow Airport last year on 30 June. Sabeel was later picked up on the same evening from his Liverpool residence. The young doctor later admitted that he had failed to inform the authorities about the terror attack planned by his brother.
