Presently there are two types of programmes that are garnering maximum viewership on television in India – reality shows and saas-bahu soaps. So in order to cash in on the USPs of both, the Sahara One TV channel will soon begin airing a new reality show called Saas Vs Bahu. Just like the Television serials, the Saas Vs Bahu reality show will also feature the mother-in-laws pitted against the daughter-in-laws. But while TV soaps show saas and their bahus bickering or fuming over trivial issues, the new Sahara reality show Saas Vs Bahu will feature them engage in a healthy tussle of skills. To inculcate the element of the melodramatic television soaps in this unique reality show, the producers have roped in the various mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law of the small screen.

Siddharth Kumar Tewary of Swastik pictures, who is one of the producers of this reality show says, ‘It will be the first daily reality show in Indian television which will run from Monday to Friday.’ He further informs that ‘Saas Vs Bahu’ will have 15 saas from various TV channels competing over a period of 11 weeks against an equal number of bahus. 

The makers of this reality show, however, have refrained from divulging any information on the creative content. Even those from the film industry has been roped in to enhance the razzmatazz of the show. The Saas Vs Bahu Show is being produced by Swastik Pictures.
