Ryan Lochte of US has won gold after beating Aaron Peirsol in the 200-Meter Backstroke at the Beijing Olympics Games 2008. Just half an hour earlier, Lochte also won the bronze in the 200-Meter Individual Medley. So, it’s time for double celebrations for the American boy.
 
Lochte took the lead in the final 50 meters and touched the wall in 1:53.94min. With that, he lowered the world mark of 1:54.32min that he shared with Peirsol for more than a month. In a time of 1:54.33min, Peirsol grabbed the silver medal. While Arkady Vyatchanin of Russia, who led the first 150 meters, settled on the bronze in 1:54.93min.
