With US president Barack Obama announcing the scrapping of the implementation of Missiles in Poland and other European nations, Russia has also announced its calling off of the implementation of missiles near Poland.

Vladimir Popovkin, while talking over the radio station, Ekho Moskvy, mentioned that the decision adopted by US Presdient for scrapping the missile implementation plan has triggered this decision of the Russian government.

"Reason prevailed over ambitions, and there is no need in deploying tactical Iskander systems in Kaliningrad," Popovkin said which was the reflection of the statements made by some other Russian officials.

Obama had proclaimed on Thursday that Washington has scrapped the idea f deploying radar in Czech Republic and missile station in Poland. He also added that this decision was being adopted by US in wake of the new strategy adopted by Iran in missile techniques.

"The measures Russia had planned in response to the deployment of missile shield elements in Eastern Europe will certainly be abandoned," Popovkin said.
