Sanaa Bhambri lost to eight seeded compatriot Rushmi Chakravarthy for a 3-6 1-6 at the $10,000 International Tennis Federation (ITF) tournament played in the DLTA complex at New Delhi on Saturday.

Rushmi, 31, has lost to Sanaa at the only meeting in Ahmedabad ITF tournament in 2006. She ensured that she holds the reins of the entire game, leaving no space to loose even a single set and claiming the win in just over an hour.

Rushmi, who is an Indian Oil Officer from Chennai, had been inactive due to a knee injury. But this never even showed off once during the entire match as she shattered the Delhi girl.

Rushmi had completely held the second set, just losing one game, to win the set and the match.

"I played pretty sharp today. I know Sanaa's game and she played the way I had anticipated. My forehand shots were coming good today and I am glad to win the final. It has been a good week for me," said Rushmi, who last won an ITF tite last year in June at the National Tennis Academy (NTA) in Gurgaon.

Rushmi will next play at Dehradun in the ITF tournament that begins on Monday.
