Indian shooting star Ronjan Sodhi has equaled the world record and won a gold medal in double-trap at the ISSF World Cup in Belgrade.

Indian shooting star Ronjan Sodhi has won the gold medal in recently held ISSF World Cup in Belgrade. He won this gold medal in double trap where he equaled the world record too. This 29-year-old shooter based in Delhi has won the medal contesting against Brits Richard Faulds and Daniele Di Spigno of Italy. After winning the most coveted gold medal the champion said that it is great feeling to win gold medal and equal world record at the same time.
 
 Though he has won gold medal in here he still is not qualified for Beijing Olympics. Talking about the hopes of his being participating in the game he said that National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) should try to get a wildcard for him so that he can participate in Olympics. Sodhi shot 147 out of 150 (49, 48, 50) after three rounds of qualification to go into the final leading the pack of six. With this performance he equaled the World Record jointly held by Faulds and Michael Diamond of Australia.
 
The champion thanked all his friends and teammates after the victory. He thanked to his mentor Morad Ali Khan, and also to Mittal Champion which has been consistently been supporting him financially. He expected that his senior Rajyavardhan Rathore could win a medal in Beijing Olympics for country.
