Georgeta Andrunache and Viorica Susanu of Romania caught hold of gold medal in Rowing Women's Pair with a finishing time of 7:20.60min. While Wu You and Gao Yulan of China won silver in a time of 7:22.28min, Yuliya Bichyk and Natallia Helakh of Belarus fell short by just .63 seconds and were left with the bronze medal.
 
China achieved the three-quarter mark nearly three seconds behind Belarus, but sealed silver with a run in the final 500m. Belarus had moved directly to the A-final after their heat win, while China qualified for the final by winning a four-second victory over Germany in the semifinals. Lenka Wech and Maren Derlien of Germany placed fourth in a time of 7:25.73min, whereas Juliette Haigh and Nicola Coles of New Zealand came in fifth in a time of 7:28.80min.
