Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the wholly owned subsidiary of the BMW Group, will roll out its new flagship global model, Ghost in India by the end of this year.

The announcement by the English luxury-automobile maker came after Tata Motors’ launch of the Jaguar and Land Rover in India.

The Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Colin Kelly has disclosed that Ghost will be formally exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The car will be showcased in the company’s showrooms in India by the year’s end.

Announced at the Auto Shanghai show in April 2009, the Rolls-Royce Ghost is a smaller, ultra-luxury salon automobile designed by Ian Cameron and engineered by Helmut Reidl who is also noted for developing the fifth-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Internationally, the car will be available for around £ 170,000 or around Rs. 1.2-1.3 crore. The price of the ghost will be more because of taxes and import duties.
