Roger Federer has reached fifth time consecutively into the final of US Open by defeating Novak Djokovic of Serbia in four sets by 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. The Swiss player till now has won 13 Grand Slams, including four US Open titles. He will be plying the final to win the US title and equal Pete Sampras's record of 14 Grand Slam titles.

Djokovic had defeated Federer earlier in the Australian Open semis in January this year. An early break gave Federer the first set, but Djokovic came back in the game and won the second set. Federer was happy after the victory over Djokovic; he said that he is excited to be playing in another final and hoped to win it. He knows the victory in US Open would make him number one again.
