Robbie Williams' highly-anticipated comeback single Bodies failed to top the U.K. chart - he was beaten to the number one spot by TV talent show winner Alexandra Burke.

The former Take That singer launched a massive publicity drive after three years hiatus from music, but last year's The X Factor winner Burke has topped the charts with her song Bad Boys.

Williams' track sold less than half the copies of Burke's second single, which features U.S. rapper Flo Rida and has become the U.K.'s fastest-selling song of 2009.

London rapper Chipmunk takes third place with Oopsy Daisy, while Taio Cruz is at number four with Break Your Heart. Jay-Z's collaboration with Alicia Keys, Empire State Of Mind, rounds out the top five.
