An enhanced upscale version of the Blackberry mobile phone will soon be introduced by the Research In Motion Ltd or RIM, targeting the niche consumers in the business segment. The company, however, hopes that the chic Blackberry device also catches the attention of others in the retail market. The new smartphone has been christened as the BlackBerry Bold and is the first BlackBerry device to sustain high-speed HSDPA cellular networks. It also boasts of integrated GPS, Wi-Fi and a multitude of other multimedia features.
Speaking about the new BlackBerry Bold, RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie said that the device is a step up in functionality in many core aspects of the system. It is reported that the new BlackBerry device will see a global launch this summer and can be fetched in the price range $300 and $400. Its leading carrier in the United States will be AT&T. The BlackBerry Bold flaunts a crystal clear display, a 2-megapixel camera with video recording facility and a media player for seeing films and administering music collections.
