The Reliance Globalcom of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group has inked a deal with United States’ Stealth Communications in order to expand their voice-over-Internet protocol (VOIP) network across 50 countries. Now this agreement allows the 65,000-kilometre IP-enabled optic fibre network of Reliance Globalcom to be used by the voice peering fabric (VPF) of Stealth Communications for carrying its VOIP traffic. Commenting on this development, the global voice services president of Reliance Globalcom, Mike Sauer said, ‘Reliance Globalcom is pleased to provide the extensive reach of its network assets to the Worlds largest VOIP community - VPF.’
A recent statement issued by the Indian company stated that this deal with the New York based Stealth Communications will help better the reliability of next generation network of Reliance Globalcom. ‘This will not only augment the services but will also provide cost benefits to VOIP to end-users,’ it added. Mike Sauer is all hopeful that VPF’s extended reach though the network of Reliance Globalcom will cause enable service providers from fresh markets to join the VOIP bandwagon at a fetching cost. The VPF happens to be the largest peering network in the world for firms to exchange voice (VoIP) and telephony-related services without depending upon the standard telephone networks.
