After many days’ rumor at different foray, Apple, the makers of iPhone 3G might launch its red version. According to reports the red iPhone will presumably be sold as part of the RED campaign. RED is a charitable organization which fights against AIDS, and donates funds to Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Also, red color would not be bad choice for selling Apple product, said a blogger.
Apple has always been the part of the campaign of fighting AIDS and there are precedents of it launching its products for the purpose. Apple has launched its products RED iTunes gift cards, a red 8GB iPod Nano, and a red 1GB iPod Shuffle for the purpose. Established in 1976 Apple has been involved in many similar philanthropic works.
However it would not be easy to change the color of handset as the iPhone 3G are made of metal and changing of color on metal is not easy. iPhone 3G has been mega hit so far and has been sold in one million units worldwide in only three days. And, some gadget enthusiasts opine that if red is added to its kitty of existing black and white versions it would sell in 10 million units.
