A vaccination programme has been started by a UAE-based charity organization in Indonesia in an attempt to enable the people to fight against the contagious diseases.
The administration of vaccines for measles, chicken pox and tetanus has been started by the UAE Red Crescent Authority in the Kota Pariaman province of Indonesia. This step has been adopted by RCA for helping the people of the province, who have been affected by earthquake.
The weeklong immunisation programme is conducted in collaboration with the local authorities. The programme will cover 18,000 people, including 8,000 school children in the region.
Provincial Governor Mukhlis Rahman has lauded the humanitarian initiative launched by the UAE.
