Gulab Chand Kataria, Rajasthan Home Minister has revealed that the Forensic Science reports have confirmed the use of RDX (cyclotrimethylene-trinitramine) in Jaipur serial bomb blasts. May 13th serial blasts have left more than 60 people dead and over 200 injured in the Pink city. Mr. Kataria added that the explosives were very powerful timer bombs having over 1700 pellets. He further remarked that investigations into the blasts are being carried out at a rigorous speed.
AS Gill, Director General of Police remarked that it is obvious that it is a terrorist plot. The Rajasthan Home Minister also reiterated that the kind of materials used the structure of the explosives and the way it was used clearly indicates that it is not the work of ordinary people. The Home Ministry has revealed that the Union government has sent a team of experts to assist with the investigation. State run broadcaster Doordarshan cited an unidentified Home Ministry official claiming that Harkut-ul Jihad al Islami (HUJI), a group basd in Bangladesh is responsible for the attacks.
United States Offers Help In Jaipur Blast Investigations
The United States has condemned the serial blasts that rocked Jaipur city on Tuesday. The US State Department in a statement issued from Washington yesterday remarked that the US stands with India to fight to ‘eliminate the scourge of terrorism’. The statement read that there is no justification of murder of innocent people. Sean McCormack, State Department spokesman remarked that there the United States condemns the terrorists attacks in Jaipur that have killed and injured many innocent civilians. He further remarked that the prayers of the people of United States are with the victims and their families.
