Ranbir was recently approached by Mani Ratnam to play the lead in his much anticipated “Azaan” but he declined to be a part of the project.While most actors wait for a lifetime to get a chance to work with the ace director, but Ranbir has no ambitions or regrets whatsoever.
Mani Ratnam on the other hand was totally impressed by Ranbir’s recent hits at the Box Office. He had overlooked even some of the top actors who would have easily said yes for such a project.
The actor had politely refused to act in the movie when the filmmaker approached Ranbir and narrated him the script.
Confirming the news, a source quoted ““Mani obviously was left disappointed as he wanted a young hero for the film. He has very few choices at his disposal. He feels that the only actors who can play the character are Ranbir, Shahid or Imran. With Ranbir refusing, he will now turn to Shahid or Imran.”
