Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has finally earned the support of some celebrity. The minister has got the backing of Yoga and Spiritual guru Baba Ramdev in their battle against junk food menace. Ramadoss had earlier angered many in the Bollywood fraternity due to his campaign against tobacco and alcohol.
The yoga guru backing Ramadoss remarked that it is scientifically proven that alcohol, tobacco and junk food such as burgers, pizza etc are poisonous for human body and hence he hails the health minister’s drive against junk food. Ramadoss said few complementing words for Baba Ramdev saying that he is doing fantastic work in propagating yoga and his ministry will be supporting him.
Ramdoss further added that he is going to meet HRD minister Arjun Singh on the issue of making yoga mandatory in all schools. The Health Minister however is perhaps ignorant about the fact that Yoga has already been included by the HRD ministry in the NCERT curriculum from 2005 onwards.
