With the whole world glued on to their television sets to see the live telecast of the opening ceremony of the Beijing ceremony on August 8, it will be a proud moment for Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and India as well.
The ace shooter, who did India proud by winning a silver medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics, has been chosen to be the flag bearer for the Indian contingent during the Beijing Olympics opening event. The Indian Olympic Association announced this news on Monday, August 4.
It also added that the Indian contingent will comprise 57 members. There will be nine shooters as well as 42-member support staff, who are reaching Beijing in batches. The shooters, boxers and swimmers have already reached the Olympic village.
