Powered by a blistering knock of 76 runs (4X5, 6X5) in just 49 balls by Shane Watson, Rajasthan Royals defeated Kings XI Punjab by 6 wickets to register their first win in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Batting first Punjab posed an impressive total of 166 runs in the alloted 20 overs. Yuvraj Singh was the highest scorer for Punjab smashing 57 runs off just 34 balls which included 6 fours and 3 sixes. Karan Goel (26), Piyush Chawla (24) and Kumar Sagakkara (20) were other notable scorers for Punjab. For Rajasthan Royals, Shane Warne picked up 3 wickets whereas SK Trivedi claimed 2 victims. Munaf Patel and Salunkhe chipped in with 1 wicket each.
In reply the Royals looked in a spot of bother at one stage loosing 3 wickets for just 48 runs. But then Darren Lehmann shared a valuable 51 runs partnership with Watson for the fourth wicket. After Lehmann's departure, young Jadeja played an impressive knock of 36 runs in 25 balls and together with Watson guided his team to victory with 11 balls to spare.
