Defending champions Rajasthan Royals clinched a thrilling 2-run win over Mumbai Indians in an IPL match played at Durban on Thursday (May 14). It was pacer Munaf Patel who bowled a sensational last over to seal the victory for Rajasthan Royals. With this win, the Royals jumped to third spot on the IPL table while Mumbai Indians have been pushed to sixth place with 11 points from 12 matches. Earlier, electing to bat first, Rajasthan Royals garnered 145 runs for seven in the allotted 20 overs.
 
The top scorer from Rajasthan team was Rob Quiney. He scored 51 runs from 40 deliveries. Quiney was nicely supported by Ravindra Jadeja (42). In reply, Mumbai Indians began their innings badly by losing three wickets with just 23 runs on the board. However, skipper Sachin Tendulkar (40) and Abhishek Nayar (35) put the team back on the track, but that was not enough as the team lost the plot in the final two overs. Tendulkar was moving along nicely until he was out leg before to a Shane Warne delivery. After Sachin's departure it was Abhishek Nayar's turn to rescue his team.
 
Nayar had almost won the match for the Mumbai Indians by hitting Johan Botha for a brilliant six in the 19th over. But the game changed dramatically when Nayar got run-out ion the very next delivery of the same over. Needing only four runs from the last six deliveries, Mumbai Indians perished at the hands of Munaf Patel (2-22). He dismissed Dhawal Kulkarni with a yorker in the second ball of the final over and was spot on with the rest of his deliveries.
