Kolkata Knight Riders had their third consecutive loss, going down by 45 runs to Rajasthan Royals in their IPL tie at Jaipur on Thursday. With the exception of Skipper Sourav Ganguly and David Hussey, no other Kolkata batsman fired.
Chasing a stiff target of 197, the Knight Riders were bowled out for 151 in 19.1 overs. Sourav Ganguly's 51 and David Hussey's 42 (30 balls) were the only highlights of the Kolkata team.
For Rajasthan Royals, Shane Watson (2/22), Sohail Tanvir (2/30) and Siddharth Trivedi (2/31) bowled with lots of fire and not allowed the Knight Riders to settle down.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored a comfortable 197 for 7. Swapnil Asnodkar ( Man-of-the-Match) scored 60 off 34 balls while Yusuf Pathan chipped in with 55 off 33 balls. Umar Gul was the most successful Kolkatan bowler claiming 3 Jaipur wickets.
