Rajasthan Royals made the Delhi Daredevils taste successive defeat on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur. Rajasthan Royals ace cricketer Shane Watson made a magnanimous 74 run score in 40 balls to give the Rajasthan Royals a three wicket victory over Delhi Daredevils. A brilliant bowling supported by electrifying fielding helped Rajasthan Royals restrict Delhi Daredevils to a modest total of 156 for seven in their IPL Twenty20 match.
The Delhi Daredevils batted first on Sunday evening but failed to build partnerships and could not put enough runs on the board. This made the task tough for their bowlers to defend a modest total. Rajasthan Royals skipper Shane Warne used all his bowlers effectively and made batting difficult for visiting batsmen, until Farveez Maharoof hit a blazing 39-run knock towards the end. The Sri Lankan also shared a crucial 54-run partnership with compatriot Tilakratne Dilshan (18) to help his team cross a decent 150-run mark.
