Veteran cricket writer Natarajan Balasubramaniam popularly known as Rajan Bala passed away in Bangalore on Friday. Rajan had turned 63 two days ago.
 
According to his family sources he died in a hospital in the Garden City where he had been admitted after he suffered a stroke .He was in coma since then. He never regained consciousness and passed away here on Friday morning. He was also undergoing dialysis for quite some time.
 
A renowned cricket writer, Rajan Bala, had been covering cricket for more than four decades and worked in several leading newspapers including the Statesman, the Hindu, the Indian Express and the Deccan Herald.
 
He wrote several books on cricket. His first book was 'Kiwis and Kangaroos', an account of New Zealand's tour to India in 1969. Rajan Bala had also penned biographies of Bhagwat Chandrasekhar and Sachin Tendulkar. His latest book 'Time Well Spent' will hit the stores this week.
