Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray has now made the north Indian students in Pune a target of his parochial politics. The controversial politician made the comments with regard to the students of north India at a party rally held in Pune, late at Sunday night. He remarked that Pune, with its large number of reputed universities and institutions imparting higher education are attracting students from the north Indian states, who are being given admissions on massive donations leaving in lurch the deserving Marathi aspirants.
The MNS leader further added that his party workers will be watching these institutions as the new academic year is approaching. He remarked that they are well aware that the affluent students from UP and Bihar also indulge in eve teasing and arrogant behavior and if they persist this then they will be taught a lesson.
Thackeray remarked at the rally that though he would not like to equate those from UP and Bihar with other north Indian states, but even states like Delhi and Punjab harbor anti-UP and Bihar sentiment. Twenty-eight MNS party activist including party general secretary Deepak Paigude were arrested for organizing the rally in Pune.
