MNS chief Raj Thackeray, while addressing a rally of MNS activists in Thane, on Saturday, May 10, 2008, asked the Marathi people to check infiltration of outsiders, particularly the north Indians. Raj had been cautioned by the Mumbai police two days ago to stop his provocative speeches which can cause serious law and order problem. But it seems that the MNS chief is determined to continue his tirade against the north Indians.
Raj said that the Marathi people should speak only their language. He further said that other people go escort free when they give provocative speeches but action is taken only against him. He appreciated Nana Patekar's demand not to allow outsiders to vote.
Meanwhile, the deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. R.R. Patil said in New Delhi that they can't take action against Raj on the basis of warnings and that since his speech was full of 'ifs and buts' the police has no clear grounds to take actions against him. It is to be noted that for quite some time now Raj has been lashing hard at the north Indians in Maharashtra for which he has been widely criticized.
