Without paying any heed to police warnings, MNS chief Raj Thackeray again targeted the north Indians saying that only Maharashtra Day should be celebrated in the state. Resisting the warnings of the government to arrest him, he again spoke against the north Indians saying that he will not allow them to destroy Maharashtra's culture. In a rally held in Mumbai, on Saturday 3 May, to mark his party's second anniversary he said that he is not afraid of being arrested and maintained his stand that only Maharashtra Day must be celebrated in Maharashtra.

Raj Thackeray further added that if the north Indians continued their 'dadagiri' in Mumbai, then he would be forced to make the north Indians leave the state. He appealed to the local populace of Maharashtra to preserve the rich culture and language of the state and to ensure the economic and social growth of the local people. He even blamed the Marathi speaking people for the confederacy by the north Indians to control the Marathi culture.

Raj Thackeray also appealed to the transport authority and the rationing department not to issue illegal licenses to the north Indians. He also slashed out at the MPs of the state wondering what they were doing as the number of Maharashtrians recruited by the various government agencies is very low. He even spoke against Jaya Bachchan, megastar Amitabh Bachchan's wife for her comments on him.
