Orissa railway stations are likely to get high tech security gadgets as the East Coast Railway authorities have proposed for the project. The newly proposed plan is taken to shun any kind of terrorist attack. It is very essential to install high tech security gadgets at railway stations, especially after the last week's terror attacks in different places of Mumbai which killed about 183 people besides injuring several.
The high level meeting of East Coast Railway authorities stated that under the new plan, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, baggage scanner machines and exclusive detection machines will be introduced at different railway stations of Orissa. Apart from these, forming of bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog squads were also considered at the meeting. The meeting was organised to review the security situation at railway stations, especially in Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.
The meeting also stressed the need of better coordination of Railway Protection Force (RPF) with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the state police. Besides it, the passengers are also required to give their full cooperation and support to successfully implement the security measures at Orissa railway stations. The recent planed steps might prove out to be very beneficial in dismissing any kind of terrorist activities.
