Rahul Gandhi, the Congress general secretary, spend hours under the scorching sun on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 as he visited the flood-hit Araria district of Bihar. He went to relief camps crammed with people who got displaced from the homes by the floods caused by River Kosi. Donning kurta-pajama and sporting a light stubble, the Congress GS, hugged an evacuee as he listened to him and others narrate their woes inflicted on them by Kosi.

Clearly the situation in flood-hit Bihar is still pitiable despite all the food and relief being brought in.  Getting down from his Innova car, the young Indian politician approached an evacuee Mohammed Haseebuddin to enquire how he was faring. 'What are your problems, how are you faring in the relief camp?' Rahul Gandhi spent over 40 minutes at the Sonapur relief shelter.
