The ace Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal won his fifth successive Monte Carlo Masters title by defeating Novak Djokovic on Sunday (April 19). Nadal crushed Djokovic by 6-3 2-6 6-1 to be the first player to win the clay court tournament for the fifth successive time. The world number one won the match by playing some competitive tennis.
After winning the match, Nadal expressed his unhappiness regarding his serve and made up his mind to improve on it before the Roland Garros, commencing next month. The Spanish star struggled with his serve in the beginning of the match. However, in the end he clinched the opening set by winning five games in a row.
The third-seeded Novak Djokovic levelled the match with an ace but it turned Nadal's way again after a 14-minute tussle in the first game of the deciding set. The four-times French Open champion saved three break points before holding serve and breaking his opponent. Rafael Nadal registered his victory when Djokovic netted a backhand.
