Kerala Tourism has tied up with Radio Mirchi to promote the state among the listeners of New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. The state tourism department has earlier taken lots of online initiatives to promote the tourism industry of Kerala. Under the new initiative, four radio jockeys will travel to the state for a week and experience the exotic locales of Kerala. The radio jockeys will then broadcast their experiences to listeners in their respective cities.
The four radio jockeys who will travel across the state of Kerala are Anand Rai (Bangalore), Suven (Mumbai), Aakriti (New Delhi) and Ankit (Ahmedabad). Radio Mirchi will broadcast the experiences of the jockeys three times a day. According to a statement from Kerala Tourism Department, the listeners will able to get a feel of the exotic locations of the beautiful state of Kerala through the commentaries of the radio jockeys.
The jockeys will travel to the beaches, backwaters and hill stations of Kerala and share their first-hand experiences with the listeners. Besides these, the listeners will be able to win holidays to the state through a series of on-air competitions. The concept of promoting the state through radio has been planned to attract maximum domestic visitors during the lean season.
According to Tourism Director M Shivshankar, the concept of promoting places through radio is very popular in foreign countries. The description of the beauty of a place through radio will play with the imaginations of the listeners and prompt them to visit the destination.
