Wang Lee-hom, a Taiwanese singer, has accused the makers of the Hindi film Race of plagiarizing his music and has slapped on them $320,000 as damages. Lee-hom, 33, was born in the United States and is very popular in Southeast Asia. He has demanded the damages from the distributor of film Race, Tips Films.

It is alleged that the lead song in Race, Zara Zara Touch Me featuring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif is an imitation of the Taiwanese singer’s ‘Deep in the bamboo grove’ (Chu Lin Shen Chu). A statement issued in this regard underscored that the rhythm and tempo of the ‘Zara Zara’ song is almost totally akin to that of Deep in the bamboo grove. Sony BMG has stated that it holds the right to take legal action against distributor of ‘Race’ incase of plagiarism.
