Tachyon Technologies has developed a web based language transliteration tool called Quillpad to provide an easy translation from English to other languages. This web based tool will help the user in getting the required native script from English.
Quillpad application can now translate to 10 different Indian languages like Hindi, Kannada, Telugu,Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali and Punjabi. However, the version will be available in Hindi and then it will be extended to other languages as well.
According to the company sources, the web version of this vernacular application can be effective seeing the large user base in mobile use. As per the current statistics, out of the 400 million mobile phone users in the country, only 100 million users can communicate in English. So supporting the native languages will have a greater penetration to the Indian markets.
The consumers can download Quillpad mobile to their phones via GPRS by logging on to http://www.quillpadmobile.in. Then they have to subscribe the product by paying Rs. 149. The users can also get more information about the tool by sending an SMS typing ‘Quillpad’ and the sending it to 57333.
