The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, slated to be held on Nov 27 at the Cultural Centre in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, will be inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II. 52 leaders from across the world, including Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, will participate in the summit.
Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Patrick Manning, who visited the cultural centre, whose work is under progress, mentioned that the work of the centre will complete by November.
Prince Philip will also be present at the inaugural event. The Queen will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural event of the summit.
Chutney music, an indigenous form of music laced with Bhojpuri words, will form part of the opening ceremony, according to Brian Mac Farlane, coordinator of the cultural extravaganza at the opening ceremony.
