Vladimir Putin has denied the reports of a Russian newspaper which said that the President has divorced his wife Lyudmila to marry Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva. It is to be noted a Russian newspaper ‘Moskovski Korrespondent’ had reported that Putin will marry Kabaeva in mid June after he steps down as the Russian president. The paper also said that the most powerful Russian has divorced his wife Lyudmilla two months ago.
Putin on Friday, while addressing a press conference in Sardinia, confirmed that there is absolutely no truth in the story and he has not divorced his wife Lyudmilla. Putin also said that one must respect his private life and no one has the right to interfere in his private life. Alina Kabaeva, who is said to have modelled naked, wrapped in furs, is a member of the Duma.
Kabaeva has represented Russia in the Sydney and Athens Olympics and is also the member of Russia's lower parliament. Earlier this year French President Nicholas Sarkozy made headlines when he married model Carla Bruni who is much younger to him.
