Punjab National Bank (PNB) formally introduced its Global Credit Card on Friday (February 6). The new facility of PNB was launched by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia. The Global Credit Card of PNB will be acceptable in over 29 million merchant establishments and one million ATMs worldwide. Launched in association with Visa, the international card will also be acceptable at several e-commerce sites.
 
According to Dr Ahluwalia, the new facility of PNB will prove out to be very beneficial for the customers world wide. The new global credit card of PNB includes host of features like photo card and SMS alerts. Chairman and Managing Director of the bank, K. C. Chakrabarty said that in order to cater to the requirement of different income groups, PNB is launching two consumer credit cards named PNB Global Gold and PNB Global Classic.
 
Chakrabarty claimed that the credit card of PNB offers a free credit period of 20-50 days. No joining, renewal, annual fee or fuel surcharge are required for this card. In India, the credit card will be made available at 84 identified centres. The facility will send SMS alerts to all its customers in case of e-commerce and high value transactions.
